Anstruther

Scotland > Central Scotland > Fife > Anstruther

View of Anstruther Harbour One of the most beautiful fishing villages in Scotland situated in the East Neuk of Fife, 10 miles south of St Andrews.

Once a very busy herring port, "Ainster" as it sometimes called locally, dates back to the 16th century. Today the village is a magnate for visitors - many of them artists trying to capture the harbour area on canvas.

yesscotland.com says:
Great place to stay and tour the East of Fife, St Andrews, Dundee etc. Cycling is well catered for and special cycle route guides are available from the local tourist information offices. Some great food as well and local hostelries include the Craw's Nest.
