Langholm

Scotland > South of Scotland > Dumfriesshire > Langholm



Located on the River Esk almost 8 miles from the English border. Famous in times gone bye for the manufacturing of cloth and tweeds in particular. Like a lot of the border tows it has its common riding, when the riding of the marches take place in July. The well known Scottish poet Hugh MacDiarmid (C.M. Grieve) was born here.
