Lesmahagow

Scotland > Central Scotland > Lanarkshire > Lesmahagow

Located on the west bank of the River Nethan it has a history reaching as far back as prehistoric times. Monks established a priory here, on lands granted by King David the first in 1144. The monks were perhaps the first to start growing fruit in the Clyde Valley.
