Lochmaddy
Scotland > Western Isles > Isle of North Uist > Lochmaddy
The chief village of north Uist and its port, with a good harbour. The small village is on the east coast and although not that close to North Uist's beaches, its probably the best base for exploring the island. It has a hotel, a bank, pub, shops, post office, hospital and petrol station. The Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum and Arts Centre is worth a visit.
