Maybole

The busy town of Maybole was a centre for the Kennedy family and the then Earls of Casillis. It is situated 12 miles north of Girvan and 9 miles south of Ayr in South Ayrshire. Its older buildings include the 17th century Maybole Castle and 14th century church. Modern Maybole is part of the commuter belt for those working in Ayr and beyond, the old industries which made it famous have long since gone.
There is a mainline rail station at Maybole and good road links (A77) to Ayr and Glasgow.
