Renfrew

Scotland > Central Scotland > Renfrewshire > Renfrew

Renfrew is situated 5 miles west of Glasgow and 3 miles north east of Paisley. It became a Royal Burgh in 1396 by King Robert III and was generally considered to be a stronghold of the Royal House of Stuart. The Parich Church contains a sculptured tomb and a variety of 15th century effigies. Nearby, the Argyll Stone was once thought to be stained with the Earl of Argyll's blood.
