Scalloway

Located on the Mainland of Shetland, 5 miles to the west of Lerwick. It is a fishing port and sailing centre ranged around its sheltered harbour on the East Voe of Scalloway. Once the capital of Shetland, the castle dated from 1600 was built by the Earl of Orkney.

Scalloway Museum tells of local history, fishing and the World War II exploits of Norway's soldiers who made Scalloway their base.
