16 miles north of Lerwick in Shetland's Mainland, Skellister lies on South Nesting Bay looking out towards Whalsay and Out Skerries. There is a prehistoric standing stone at Skellister and an ancient settlement and field system below the Loch of Skellister 1 mile to the north of the village.
