Stobo lies about 5 miles (8km) west of Peebles and is home to the small Church of Stobo which dates back to Norman times with 16th and 17th century additions. Stobo Castle can be found to the south west while on the opposite bank of the River Tweed lies Dawyck Woods, where horse chestnut trees were first introduced to Scotland, as well as being home to some fine Douglas Firs and many Chinese Rhododendrons making it a very scenic spot. ![]() |
