Uplawmoor

Scotland > Central Scotland > Renfrewshire > Uplawmoor

Located off the A736, Irvine to Barrhead Road, set in the picturesque hills of Renfrewshire near Glasgow.

In the 19th century Uplawmoor was mainly an estate village for workers of the Caldwell estate. There were weavers, cobblers and harness makers. The village also had a sawmill and tile works.

This small hamlet is set up from the road in a quiet rural location. It is only 13 miles from Glasgow, making it a desirable location for private housing in a village setting. It has a good hotel/restaurant and golf nearby.
