Burntisland

Scotland > Central Scotland > Fife > Burntisland

A Royal Burgh lying on the shores of the Firth of Forth with a once busy harbour. The local church is modelled on a church in Amsterdam and dates to 1592 - showing the trading links between Scotland and the Low Countries of the day. Cromwell once occupied the Burgh during the English Civil War. The town has an excellent golf course as one might expect in Fife!
