Cramond

Once a stand-alone fishing village on the Firth of Forth, Cramond is now on the western fringes of the Capital and very popular for housing.

It gets its name from the River Almond and the old bridge that crossed it which was built in 1619 - Cramond Brig. Robert Louis Stevenson uses the village as a backdrop in his novel "St Ives".

This is a very picturesque village with a fine hostelry.
