Duddingston

A district of Edinburgh at the east end of Arthur's Seat and Holyrood Park. The Loch is a bird sanctuary and the nearby Sheep's Heid Inn is a famous old hostelry well worth visiting.

Interesting buildings include Duddingston House (dating back to 1768), Peffermill House (1636) and Prestonfield House Hotel (1687) once visited by Dr Johnson and Boswell in 1773.
