The village and castle of Dunvegan the Isle of Skye share the same dramatic position at the head of the Loch on the bay of Dunvegan.
The castle, the seat of the MacLeod chiefs is world famous and must epitomise the perfect Scottish castle. Parts date from the 9th century and it is the oldest continously occupied by the same family, castle in Scotland.
