Forfar

12 miles North of Dundee, Forfar is the former county town of Angus. At the north eastern end of the town is Castlehill which is renowned to have been a site of royal residence. King David I granted Forfar royal burgh status, which was later reaffirmed by King Charles II in 1665. In the 19th centuary, Forfar was known for its Gloves, Shoes, clothing, Coarse linen and Jute. Nowadays, Forfar is known for dairy produce, textiles, engineering and electronic industries.
