Fushiebridge

Scotland > Central Scotland > Midlothian > Fushiebridge

Small village on the A7 Edinburgh to Galashiels road. Used to one of the stations on the Edinburgh/Galashiels/Hawick/Carlisle railway line which was closed in 1969.

The "Waverley Line" as it was known is now due to be re-laid with an opening date of 2008 being suggested. The new line, however, is only planned to go as far as Tweedbank, between Galashiels and Melrose although there is much support for the rail link to be extended in the future at least as far as Hawick.
